“Cancel or Allow”? If you’ve been using Vista you’re already familiar with that irritating question. This sour reputation leftover from Vista has Microsoft looking to soft-peddle it’s newest Windows Pre-Beta release build 6933.winmain.081020-1842 of Windows 7. Techies at the PDC Software Developers Conference today got a sneak preview of the new release, and even got advance copies! Needless to say the torrent sites will soon be offering this release too. I’ll give you a heads-up when I find it. If you know where it’s available just give me a ping. (Click here to read full article)

Vern asks: Do you have courses on Apple computers Gord??
My reply: Nope. Not enough people own them to warrant classes yet. Plus they’re almost twice the cost of a PC, and they DO get viruses, trojans & worms (just Google it). They also freeze-up just like PC’s, but instead of the “blue screen of death”, they get the “spinning beachball of death”. Also, there’s not many qualified service technicians in smaller areas so you have to ship problematic systems to major Apple repair centers.
Now I’ve been taking Apple/MAC’s upgrade & repair certification course for several months now, and I’m not very impressed. I’ve used MAC’s in the 70′s & 80′s, but not from 1986 until 18 months ago. Alas, none of your PC software will run on a MAC – you have to buy new versions just for the MAC. The commercials are slick, but not very accurate. Mind you I personally hate VISTA, but it will be extinct by next June when Windows 7 comes out. If you haven’t bought a MAC yet, I’d wait till MinWin comes out. Take a peek at some videos about Windows 7 here >>> http://www.windows7medics.com. Hope this helps.
